وأوضح زيدان أن المهاجمين لا يمكن تقييمهم دون وصول الكرات إليهم، مؤكدًا أن غياب صناعة اللعب هو جوهر الأزمة، وليس وجود رونالدو في التشكيلة.

وفي السياق ذاته، دافع النجم الإنجليزي السابق مايكل أوين عن كريستيانو رونالدو، معتبرًا أن مكانته التاريخية لا يجب أن تكون محل تشكيك بسبب مباراة واحدة أو تراجع تهديفي مؤقت. وأشار إلى أن رونالدو لم يكن يومًا لاعبًا يعتمد على كثرة التحرك في بناء اللعب، خصوصًا في السنوات الأخيرة، لكنه يظل لاعبًا حاسمًا يظهر في اللحظات الكبيرة.

وأضاف أوين أن بلوغ رونالدو سن الـ41 يجعل الانتقادات أمرًا متوقعًا، لكنه ذكّر بأن النجم البرتغالي اعتاد الرد على المشككين بأداء قوي وأهداف مؤثرة. كما لم يستبعد تألقه في المباراة المقبلة أمام أوزبكستان، معتبرًا أن التاريخ مليء بلحظات أثبت فيها رونالدو قدرته على قلب الموازين عندما يتعرض للضغط.
