بعد غياب 3 مونديالات.. مالاغو يبدأ مهمة إنقاذ إيطاليا – أخبار السعودية

انتخبت الجمعية العمومية الاستثنائية للاتحاد الإيطالي لكرة القدم، التي عقدت في روما، الإيطالي جوفاني مالاغو، رئيساً جديداً للاتحاد.

وحصل مالاغو (الرئيس السابق للجنة الأولمبية الإيطالية واللجنة المنظمة لأولمبياد ميلانو-كورتينا الشتوي 2026) على 68.58% من الأصوات، مقابل 29.17% لمنافسه جانكارلو أبيتي، ممثل كرة القدم الهواة ورئيس الاتحاد بين 2007 و2014.

ويخلف مالاغو في المنصب غابرييلي غرافينا الذي شغل الرئاسة منذ 2018، قبل أن يقدم استقالته عقب خسارة المنتخب الإيطالي في نهائي الملحق الأوروبي المؤهل لمونديال 2026 أمام البوسنة والهرسك (1-1 بعد التمديد، 1-4 بركلات الترجيح) في 31 مارس الماضي.

وسيكون أمام مالاغو العديد من الملفات المعقدة، أبرزها اختيار مدرب جديد للمنتخب خلفاً لجينارو غاتوزو.. كما سيواجه تحديات تتعلق بإصلاح منظومة تكوين اللاعبين الشباب التي تحمل مسؤولية تراجع المنتخب وغيابه عن ثلاث نسخ متتالية من كأس العالم، إضافة إلى ملف كأس أوروبا 2032 الذي ستنظمه إيطاليا بالشراكة مع تركيا.

The extraordinary general assembly of the Italian Football Federation, held in Rome, elected Giovanni Malagò as the new president of the federation.

Malagò (the former president of the Italian Olympic Committee and the organizing committee for the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics 2026) received 68.58% of the votes, compared to 29.17% for his competitor Giancarlo Abete, a representative of amateur football and president of the federation from 2007 to 2014.

Malagò succeeds Gabriele Gravina, who held the presidency since 2018, before resigning following the Italian national team’s loss in the European playoff final for the 2026 World Cup against Bosnia and Herzegovina (1-1 after extra time, 1-4 on penalties) on March 31st.

Malagò will face many complex issues, the most prominent of which is selecting a new coach for the national team to replace Gennaro Gattuso. He will also encounter challenges related to reforming the youth player development system, which has been blamed for the national team’s decline and absence from three consecutive World Cup editions, in addition to the 2032 European Championship, which will be hosted by Italy in partnership with Turkey.
