حثت قنصلية المملكة العربية السعودية في هيوستن بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية جميع المواطنين في ولايتي لويزيانا وتكساس على توخي الحذر من مخاطر العاصفة الاستوائية «بيرثا».
وطلبت منهم متابعة النشرات والتعليمات التي تصدرها سلطات الولايتين بشأن الإعصار، والتواصل مع القنصلية عبر هواتف الطوارئ لطلب العون والمساعدة. ووفقاً لخبراء الأرصاد في أمريكا، تشكلت العاصفة الاستوائية بيرثا ليل الإثنين في خليج المكسيك قبالة ساحل فلوريدا، وتسببت في هطول أمطار غزيرة وفيضانات ناجمة عن ارتفاع منسوب مياه العواصف في المناطق الساحلية الأمريكية. ويقع مركز بيرثا على بعد نحو 110 أميال جنوب بنما سيتي بولاية فلوريدا، فيما بلغت سرعة الرياح القصوى نحو 40 ميلاً في الساعة (65 كيلومتراً في الساعة).
The Consulate of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Houston, United States, urged all citizens in the states of Louisiana and Texas to exercise caution regarding the risks posed by Tropical Storm “Bertha”.
They requested that citizens follow the bulletins and instructions issued by the authorities of the two states regarding the hurricane, and to contact the consulate via emergency phones for assistance and help. According to meteorological experts in America, Tropical Storm Bertha formed on Monday night in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida, causing heavy rainfall and flooding due to storm surge in coastal areas of the United States. The center of Bertha is located about 110 miles south of Panama City, Florida, with maximum wind speeds reaching around 40 miles per hour (65 kilometers per hour).
