أصبح الهاتف المتنقل اليوم البوابة الأولى للسعوديين إلى عالمهم الرقمي، بعد أن تحوّل من مجرد وسيلة اتصال تقليدية إلى منصة يومية متكاملة للوصول إلى المعلومات والخدمات والتسوق والتواصل والعمل والترفيه. وكشف تقرير «إنترنت السعودية 2025» الصادر عن هيئة الاتصالات والفضاء والتقنية أن 99.6% من مستخدمي الإنترنت في المملكة يعتمدون على الهاتف المتنقل للدخول إلى الشبكة، مقابل 47.4% عبر أجهزة الكمبيوتر و39.2% عبر الأجهزة اللوحية، فيما بلغت نسبة الاستخدام عبر الأجهزة الأخرى مثل الساعات الذكية ومنصات الألعاب والقارئات الإلكترونية 30.7%.

وتُظهر البيانات أن الجوال لم يعد مرتبطاً بمكان ثابت، إذ يستخدم 84% من الأفراد الإنترنت أثناء التنقل، مقابل 77.5% داخل المنزل و41.4% في مقر العمل، ما يعكس أن الهاتف أصبح الأداة الأساسية للاتصال المستمر بالشبكة في مختلف الأوقات والمواقع، وأنه تحوّل إلى محور الحياة الرقمية اليومية للمستخدم.
وفي ما يتعلق بأنظمة التشغيل، استحوذ نظام أندرويد على 60% من الاستخدام، مقابل 40% لنظام آبل، ما يعكس تنوعاً في تفضيلات المستخدمين واتساع قاعدة الأجهزة العاملة بنظام أندرويد في السوق المحلية.
كما أظهر التقرير أن باقات الإنترنت المتنقل الأكثر انتشاراً تتركز في الفئات الأعلى من حيث حجم البيانات، إذ جاءت الباقات من 51 إلى 100 جيجابايت في المرتبة الأولى بنسبة 24%، تليها الباقات غير المحدودة بنسبة 23.8%، ثم باقات 21 إلى 50 جيجابايت بنسبة 12.9%، وباقات 11 إلى 20 جيجابايت بنسبة 9.4%، بينما بلغت حصة باقات 101 إلى 300 جيجابايت نحو 7.9%، ما يعكس ارتفاع الطلب على الباقات الكبيرة نتيجة توسع استخدام المحتوى المرئي والتطبيقات ذات الاستهلاك العالي للبيانات.
وتؤكد هذه المؤشرات أن الهاتف المتنقل لم يعد مجرد وسيلة اتصال، بل أصبح المنصة الرئيسية التي يعبر من خلالها المستخدم إلى تفاصيل حياته الرقمية، بدءاً من الخدمات الحكومية والبنكية، مروراً بالتجارة الإلكترونية والتطبيقات الاجتماعية، وصولاً إلى المحتوى المرئي والترفيهي، ليشكّل بذلك حجر الأساس في التحول الرقمي الذي تشهده المملكة.
The mobile phone has today become the primary gateway for Saudis to their digital world, having transformed from just a traditional means of communication into a comprehensive daily platform for accessing information, services, shopping, communication, work, and entertainment. A report titled “Internet Saudi Arabia 2025,” issued by the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission, revealed that 99.6% of internet users in the Kingdom rely on mobile phones to access the web, compared to 47.4% via computers and 39.2% via tablets, while the usage rate through other devices such as smartwatches, gaming consoles, and e-readers stands at 30.7%.
The data shows that mobile phones are no longer tied to a fixed location, as 84% of individuals use the internet while on the go, compared to 77.5% at home and 41.4% at work, reflecting that the phone has become the primary tool for continuous connectivity to the network at various times and locations, and that it has turned into the hub of users’ daily digital lives.

Regarding operating systems, Android accounted for 60% of usage, compared to 40% for Apple, reflecting a diversity in user preferences and the expansion of devices operating on the Android system in the local market.
The report also showed that the most popular mobile internet packages are concentrated in the higher data volume categories, with packages ranging from 51 to 100 gigabytes ranking first at 24%, followed by unlimited packages at 23.8%, then packages from 21 to 50 gigabytes at 12.9%, and packages from 11 to 20 gigabytes at 9.4%. Meanwhile, the share of packages from 101 to 300 gigabytes was about 7.9%, reflecting the increased demand for larger packages due to the expansion of visual content usage and high data consumption applications.
These indicators confirm that the mobile phone is no longer just a means of communication, but has become the main platform through which users access the details of their digital lives, starting from government and banking services, through e-commerce and social applications, to visual and entertainment content, thus forming the cornerstone of the digital transformation taking place in the Kingdom.
