أصدر رئيس مجلس القيادة الرئاسي اليمني الدكتور رشاد العليمي اليوم (الأربعاء) قراراً بتعيين سالم صالح بن بريك سفيراً فوق العادة ومفوضاً للجمهورية اليمنية لدى المملكة العربية السعودية. وأوضح القرار الجمهوري رقم (64) لسنة 2026 تعيين رئيس الوزراء السابق سالم صالح بن بريك، سفيراً فوق العادة ومفوضاً للجمهورية اليمنية لدى المملكة العربية السعودية، خلفاً للسفير السابق رئيس الوزراء الحالي الدكتور شائع الزنداني، وفقاً لما ورد في وكالة الأنباء اليمنية «سبأ».

من هو بن بريك؟
ولد بن بريك في مدينة المكلا جنوب اليمن يوم 3 أبريل 1964، ونشأ في بيئة محافظة وفي محيط اقتصادي تغلب عليه التجارة، وتلقى تعليمه الأساسي والجامعي في مدينة المكلا العاصمة الإدارية لمحافظة حضرموت.
بدأ سالم بن بريك مسيرته المهنية في القطاع الجمركي، وشغل مناصب مهمة في مصلحة الجمارك، منها جمارك ميناء الحديدة ومنفذ الطوال الحدودي، إضافة إلى جمارك ميناء المكلا. وفي 2014، عُين رئيساً لمصلحة الجمارك، وعمل على إصلاح القطاع الجمركي وتحسين الأداء ورفع كفاءة الموانئ. كما شغل مناصب عليا في القطاع الاقتصادي، إذ كان مدير عام المنطقة الحرة بمحافظة عدن وأسهم في تطوير المنطقة الاقتصادية ودعم الأنشطة التجارية والصناعية.
في 2018، عُين نائباً لوزير المالية، وهو المنصب الذي شغله حتى 2019، حين عُين وزيراً للمالية في الحكومة اليمنية.
كما أن بن بريك سياسي يمني بارز، وفي 3 مايو 2025 أصدر رئيس مجلس القيادة الرئاسي قراراً بتعيينه رئيساً لمجلس الوزراء، واستمر فيه حتى تقديم استقالته في منتصف يناير 2026.
The President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, issued a decision today (Wednesday) to appoint Salem Saleh Bin Breik as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Republican decision No. (64) of 2026 clarified the appointment of the former Prime Minister Salem Saleh Bin Breik as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, succeeding the former ambassador and current Prime Minister Dr. Sha’if Al-Zandani, according to what was reported by the Yemeni News Agency “Saba”.
Who is Bin Breik?
Bin Breik was born in the city of Mukalla in southern Yemen on April 3, 1964, and grew up in a conservative environment in an economically trade-dominated setting. He received his primary and university education in Mukalla, the administrative capital of Hadhramaut Governorate.

Salem Bin Breik began his professional career in the customs sector, holding significant positions in the Customs Authority, including at the Customs of Hodeidah Port and the Al-Tawal border crossing, in addition to the Customs of Mukalla Port. In 2014, he was appointed as the head of the Customs Authority, where he worked on reforming the customs sector, improving performance, and enhancing port efficiency. He also held senior positions in the economic sector, serving as the General Director of the Free Zone in Aden Governorate and contributing to the development of the economic zone and supporting commercial and industrial activities.
In 2018, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Finance, a position he held until 2019, when he was appointed Minister of Finance in the Yemeni government.
Bin Breik is also a prominent Yemeni politician. On May 3, 2025, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council issued a decision appointing him as the Prime Minister, a position he held until he submitted his resignation in mid-January 2026.
