شهدت مالي، أمس (السبت)، تصعيداً أمنياً جديداً بعد تعرض عدد من المواقع العسكرية والإستراتيجية لهجمات منسقة، شملت سجن كينيوروبا الواقع على بعد نحو 70 كيلومتراً من العاصمة باماكو، ما دفع الجيش إلى إعلان حالة التأهب وبدء عمليات للتعامل مع الهجمات.
وأعلنت هيئة الأركان العامة للقوات المسلحة المالية، في بيان، أن محاولات هجوم متزامنة استهدفت مواقع عسكرية في أغويل هوك، وأنيفيس، وغاو، وسيفاري، وكينيوروبا، مؤكدة أن القوات تواصل عملياتها لاحتواء الموقف، فيما لم تُحدد هوية المهاجمين رسمياً حتى الآن.
في المقابل، قال المتحدث باسم «جبهة تحرير أزواد» محمد المولود رمضان إن قوات الجبهة دخلت منطقة أنيفيس وسيطرت على عدد من المواقع، مشيراً إلى أن الاشتباكات ما زالت مستمرة داخل المدينة.
ويأتي هذا التصعيد في ظل استمرار التحديات الأمنية التي تواجهها مالي، مع تصاعد نشاط الجماعات المسلحة والتنظيمات المتشددة في شمال البلاد ووسطها، رغم العمليات العسكرية التي تنفذها السلطات.
وتعيش مالي أزمة أمنية منذ 2012، عقب اندلاع تمرد في شمال البلاد، قبل أن تتسع رقعة العنف مع نشاط جماعات مرتبطة بتنظيمَي «القاعدة» و«داعش»، لتشمل مناطق الوسط والجنوب.
وشهدت البلاد خلال الأشهر الماضية سلسلة هجمات منسقة استهدفت العاصمة باماكو ومدناً عدة، بينها كاتي وغاو وموبتي وسيفاري، بالتزامن مع تجدد الاشتباكات في إقليم كيدال، فيما أعلن الجيش آنذاك إحباط الهجمات وملاحقة منفذيها.
وتواصل السلطات المالية تعزيز إجراءاتها الأمنية في مواجهة تصاعد الهجمات، وسط مخاوف من اتساع نطاق المواجهات واستمرار تدهور الوضع الأمني في عدد من المناطق.
Mali witnessed a new security escalation yesterday (Saturday) after several military and strategic sites were targeted in coordinated attacks, including the Kenieba prison located about 70 kilometers from the capital Bamako, prompting the army to declare a state of alert and begin operations to respond to the attacks.
The General Staff of the Malian Armed Forces announced in a statement that simultaneous attack attempts targeted military sites in Aguelhok, Anéfis, Gao, Sévaré, and Kenieba, confirming that the forces continue their operations to contain the situation, while the identity of the attackers has not yet been officially determined.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the “Azawad Liberation Front,” Mohamed El-Mouloud Ramadan, stated that the front’s forces entered the Anéfis area and took control of several sites, noting that clashes are still ongoing within the city.
This escalation comes amid ongoing security challenges facing Mali, with the rise of armed groups and extremist organizations in the northern and central regions of the country, despite military operations carried out by the authorities.
Mali has been experiencing a security crisis since 2012, following the outbreak of a rebellion in the north of the country, before the violence spread with the activity of groups linked to “Al-Qaeda” and “ISIS,” extending to the central and southern regions.
In recent months, the country has witnessed a series of coordinated attacks targeting the capital Bamako and several cities, including Kati, Gao, Mopti, and Sévaré, coinciding with renewed clashes in the Kidal region, while the army announced at that time that it had thwarted the attacks and was pursuing their perpetrators.
The Malian authorities continue to strengthen their security measures in response to the rising attacks, amid fears of an escalation of confrontations and the continued deterioration of the security situation in several areas.
